And here’s some of his unique, alien anatomy for those who are interested:
tyrantisterror.deviantart.com/art/Some-Alien-Biology-79747676
Origin: Kemlasulla, the Monster from Mars, is the result of the Martians' first use of an atomic weapon, which would later become their infamous heat ray machines. The creature ravaged their world and initially inspired much fear in the sentient Martians. Eventually it garnered respect and, even later, worship. It was then that the kaiju got its name: kemlas is the Martian word for beast, and ulla is their word for god or deity (although it isn't a personified concept, being more like a sentient force than some super being). They made great tripod transportation machines in its likeness and followed it throughout the land.
Then, while apes were still evolving into men on earth, an alien race from a far more distant waged war on Mars. They ravaged the aliens with their own army of kaiju and war machines. For thousands of years Kemlasulla fought valiantly against the invaders alongside the sentient Martians (and the few other Martian kaiju), keeping the intergalactic menace at bay. This alien race had collected various beasts throughout the universe, including one powerful golden-scaled monster. This kaiju was the one that defeated Kemlasulla, but not before coming close to death itself. Without the golden kaiju the aliens were easy targets, leaving Mars ravaged but victorious.
The planet was damaged beyond quick repair, however. It would not be suitable for the Martians to live on much longer, and so they decided they must migrate. Earth, despite its higher gravity, was their best bet, the second being Venus. During the late 1890’s they attempted to colonize the blue planet and were soundly defeated by the common cold (they had long since eliminated disease from their planet and as such had developed very poor immune systems). They then left for Venus, taking the corpse of Kemasulla with them.
But Kemlasulla was not truly dead. While it took him many decades to heal, the kaiju eventually rose from its grave (erected on Venus by the Martians). The Martian colonists rejoiced, as they had seen signs of the return of the aliens who had devastated their homeworld. This time, however, the invaders did not have their sights on Mars or Venus: they were heading for Earth. And so was Kemlasulla, beast god of Mars.
Personality: Kemlasulla is an unstable and unpredictable kaiju. Being a heavily seasoned war veteren, Kemlasulla has seen and slain things that are so alien they defy proper description. Living through endless years of violence against an intergalactic threat took its toll on the Martian’s sanity. Kemlasulla is somewhat bipolar, able to go from calm to violent at the drop of a hat. He relishes combat and will often provoke fights just for the fun of it, although most of these start out as playful in nature. Kemlasulla also adheres to something of a warrior code, respecting strong fighters and showing a sense of honor when it suits him.
Special Abilities:
Semi-Sentient Intelligence- Kemlasulla has at least dolphin level intelligence, including self awareness and the ability to use and create tools.
Regeneration- Kemlasulla has the same healing factor as Tyrantis, and as such the same rules apply: his nervous system, while able to heal pretty fast, does not heal instantaneously like the rest of him, and he can be knocked out by enough blows to the head. Destroying 75% of his brain will kill him.
Improved Strength- Kemlasulla has strength unbefitting of his size, which is pretty normal as far as kaiju go. This power is very important, though, as it’s how he was able to bypass Venus’s higher gravity and eventually get accustomed to it (Venus has a very similar gravity to earth’s, so the change went unnoticed when Kemlasulla arrived on our little blue planet).
Unique Eye Structure Kemlasulla's eye, while hamped by a lack of depth perception, can move in a 180 degree arc around his head a la a cylon (which would be like you having an eye that can move from one of your cheeks to the other). With one sweeping movement he can take roughly 340 degrees of his environment.
Razor Jaws- Kemlasulla’s jaws (both of which are mobile) are developed for slashing foes, slicing through flesh and bone like a knife through butter.
Black Smoke- Kemlasulla can release a poisonous black gas from behind his “ear” armor plates. This poison will briefly attack an enemy’s nervous system, giving them a short and generally non-lethal epileptic seizure. The enemy will then be dazed for a few minutes before regaining complete control of their body.
Optic Beam- Kemlasulla’s eye can generate what has been called a blue sort of tractor beam. It can be used to push opponents away, drag them closer, or even tear them apart. It also looks very science fictiony.
Combat Style: Kemlasulla tries to overwhelm his opponent with blows, keeping them from being able to fight back as long as possible without relent. Since he has fought aliens from several different galaxies, and as such has learned that it pays to be creative and will often completely change his style of attack for no discernable reason. He While he has a powerful ranged weapon, Kemlasulla likes to play with his food, and generally uses the weapon in a nonlethal manner (he would rather relish a kill with his fangs and claws).
Strengths and Weaknesses: Kemlasulla is something of a jack of all trades, being decent in both short and long range combat. His three legs and incredibly flexible pelvis (being able to rotate almost 360 degrees) allow him to move with swift, agile circular motions that can close the gap between him and all but the swiftest foes. His jaws can slice through most material, and what little they can’t slice can easily be torn apart by his eye laser. He also stores all of his vital organs in his heavily armored head (see anatomy picture), which, in addition to his regeneration, makes him very hard to kill.
That said, Kemlasulla’s top heavy body makes him very easy to knock over. At best a fall would wind him (since his lungs are stored in his head). At worst it could do enough damage to his brain, heart, and lungs to knock him out or even kill him (the latter occuring with a particularly nasty fall, like one from say, a cliff). His eye also presents a weak spot should it be torn out, as it is not rooted firmly in its socket (although it should be noted that both his movable jaws and his “eyelid” armor plate at the top of his head can move to protect the eye: this is one of his reflex movements akin to a human flinching when someone threatens to punch them in the face).
Kemlasulla’s jaws, while powerful, are not incredibly easy to weild. Prey often has to be brought to them as opposed to them for them to be used as weapons, which can be hard with fast foes. His legs and tentacles, while useful in grabbing and beating opponents, don’t have any strong slicing weapons. They aren’t powerful enough to deliver a quick killing blow either, having to pummel foes for a long time to do any lasting damage.
Kemlasulla’s two ranged weapons are also mixed bags. His black smoke isn’t meant to do any long term damage, being used to stun foes more than anything (although enough exposure to the substance in one sitting can cause serious brain damage). His eye beam, while certainly powerful, takes a lot of energy from Kemlasulla, particularly when he tries to use it in its fatal mode (i.e. tearing foes apart). Kemlasulla doesn’t like to rely on this weapon anyway, so it’s not a terribly large flaw.
Finally, Kemlasulla’s battle strategy is a double edged sword. While his “beat foes into submission without ever giving them a chance to breathe” works like a charm with lesser foes, an enemy that is able to break out of Kemlasulla’s grip can catch him off guard. Luckily for the Martian, Kemlasulla’s many fights with alien kaiju have made him well versed in changing his fighting style, allowing him to quickly turn the tide of battle back to his favor. Many of his battles switch from extremes, with Kemlasulla appearing to be the sure winner, then his foe looking just as likely to win, then Kemlasulla, then the foe, etc.
Sample Fight:
Kemlasulla ignored the spectacle of flying saucers, tripedal war machines, and flying heat rays as he weaved around the Martian landscape. He had a greater foe to fight than the obnoxious opposing military. His foe was far more powerful than the tiny UFOs, and the grudge Kemlasulla held against him demanded vengeance. Violent, vicious, visceral vengeance.
A demonic cackle filled the air. Kemlasulla snorted gleefully. His prey had entered the battlefield. They had gone through this song and dance many times before: they entered the battle, found each other, and fought until they were both unable to move. Then the tiny creatures they were fighting for would take them back to their respective sides and heal them so they could fight again the next time.
Today, however, was different. Today Kemlasulla was going to make sure there was no “next time.” Today his foe would die definitively and the battles would cease.
A mass of flames appeared in the sky and contorted into the shape that had struck fear into millions of billions of life forms across the universe. Shimmering golden scales covered its draconic body. Six blood red eyes glinted like coals from his three snarling heads as it released another hellish cackle.
King Ghidorah, the King of Terror, had descended on Mars, ready to face its Beast God again.
The left-most head of the space dragon spat a single gravity ray at Kemlasulla. The Martian easily ducked it and, in a fluid motion that didn’t even break his stride, grabbed a boulder and chucked it at his enemy. It struck Ghidorah hard in the chest and sent the fiend hurtling toward the ground. Ghidorah tried to flip as he fell to regain his place in the air, but did it too late and ended up bashing all three of his heads against the ground before the rest of him followed suit.
When the dragon stood up Kemlasulla had closed the once significant gap between them. The Martian leapt into the air and kicked Ghidorah with all three of his gargantuan legs before landing on the titanic kaiju. He was preparing to deliver a nasty bite when the King of Terror hit him in the face with three gravity beams, sending the Martian monster head first to the ground.
Ghidorah did not let the Martian stand up. The dragon mercilessly kicked Kemlasulla while he was down, stopping just to let his foe gather enough strength to withstand the next set of blows. When that grew boring the dragon turned around and battered Kemlasulla with his twin tails. Ghidorah realized this was a mistake when he felt Kemlasulla’s teeth slice through them. All three heads of the dragon shrieked like the damned as golden blood spurted from his tail stumps. The shrieks raised in pitch as Ghidorah’s victim pounced on him from behind, pinning the colossal dragon to the ground.
Kemlasulla proceeded to beat the dragon as it had beaten him just seconds ago, although the Martian was far more ferocious. Ghidorah writhed and struggled beneath the three legged monster, screaming each time the one eyed alien’s legs and tentacles struck his golden hide. However, Ghidorah’s feet were firmly on the ground, giving him an advantage that Kemlasulla had not had earlier. Soon the dragon’s struggles were started interrupted the Martian’s onslaught. Kemlasulla could not let this happen and, deciding to take a risk, threw his massive head down towards the ground and, more specifically, Ghidorah’s back.
The dragon’s screams could shatter eardrums when he felt Kemlasulla’s razor sharp teeth rake against its body, creating massive gashes in the golden space demon’s body. While that was certainly a noteworthy blow, it had thrown Kemlasulla off balance and sent the creature sprawling on the ground. He quickly righted himself and grabbed one of Ghidorah’s wings. The dragon howled as its limb was shredded by the Martian’s jaws. Kemlasulla moved toward the other but was thrown back by a gravity beam.
King Ghidorah stood up and blasted Kemlasulla again. The Martian quickly ducked to the left before moving towards Ghidorah, kicking the dragon repeatedly with his massive legs. Kemlasulla’s “ear” plates flared open as black smoke billowed out from behind them. Ghidorah backed away only to feel the warm touch of Kemlasulla’s optic ray as it held the dragon in place. The dragon’s eyes bulged as the smoke filled its lungs and sent Ghidorah into a painful seizure. The King of Terror flailed around violently, beating himself against the rocky landscape. Kemlasulla struck Ghidorah with his optic ray again, this time using the beam to send Ghidorah hurtling back into the air. Kemlasulla chased after the dragon mere seconds after throwing him, unwilling to waste even a second of the battle.
All the other times the battle would have ended here. Kemlasulla was exhausted and knew that if he fought much longer he would falter grievously. If it were a normal day he would have returned to his home base, as would Ghidorah, and they would both lick their wounds. Not this time. This time it would end. At least one of them was going to die today, even if it meant Kemlasulla had to surpass his limits.
Kemlasulla smiled when Ghidorah was close enough to come back into view. The dragon had shaken off the seizure and was now trying to get back into the air without success. Kemlasulla began to chuck boulders at the dragon again with the same fluid motions he had used before. The difference this time was that instead of one boulder he was chucking several in succession. Most hit their target and within seconds Ghidorah was knocked to the ground. The beaten dragon squealed as the rocks continued to batter his form. The Martian wasn’t doing much better. He was more exhausted than he had ever been before. His limbs felt weak as if his joints were made of rubber, and soon he was beginning to stumble as he ran. His aim began to deteriorate, although that didn’t make much of a different to the already tired Ghidorah.
The Martian half pounced and half collapsed on the golden dragon, scratching and tearing at the space demon as they both lay writhing in a heap. The two fought desperately before Ghidorah finally managed to knock his oppressor off. Kemlasulla’s head smashed into a rock as the King of Terror began to limp away.
Rage filled the Martian as he watched his prey escape. This was supposed to end today! Summoning all his remaining energy, Kemlasulla released a powerful blast from his cyclopean eye. Ghidorah’s howls were short as the ray tore through his chest, making a hole so large it almost bisected the dragon. Ghidorah collapsed as gold blood painted the landscape around him.
Victory was in Kemlasulla’s hands, albeit at a terrible price. The Martian’s eye glazed over and rolled back into his skull. His jaws and “eyelid” plate closed over it as his body went limp. The Beast God looked dead.
However, neither kaiju had died that day. Ghidorah, with some help from his so called “masters,” would eventually recover from his wounds. Likewise, Kemlasulla’s “death” was nothing more than an extreme catatonic state. In several decades both kaiju would be back to full strength, but for now their battle was over.
