Magmire's components generally consist of lava, rock, diamonds tainted with sulfur, and a bacteria core. The outer portions of his body, the "skin" for lack of a better term, is composed of igneous and basalt rocks, with bits of other substances such as granite thrown in there as well. Beneath that and oozing through the "skin" occasionally, is molten rock. Magmire's skeletal system is made of a super-dense, diamond-like crystal, forged in the intense heat and pressure of his own body, and the dorsal spines and other crystal projections are composed of this same substance. The bacteria core is a sphere of bacteria, roughly the size of Godzilla's heart. This core controls all functions for Magmire, and is protected by another layer of crystals.
Origin Story:
In 1985, as Godzilla fell through the crater of Mt. Mihara, a number of skin cells were scraped off along the rocky interior of the volcano. A colony of ancient bacteria that thrived in these harsh environs absorbed the skin cells, and in turn were mutated by the radioactive and mutagenic properties of these cells. While Godzilla would eventually escape, the colony would continue mutating. The colony gained a kind of rudimentary intelligence and attempted to re-create Godzilla's body with the available materials, resulting in the towering inferno known as Magmire. 30 years later, he too escaped, but whether humanity will suffer has yet to be seen.
Personality:
Magmire is a semi-sentient creature. He is aware of his existance as an individual, but that's about the extent of it. Magmire is possessed of basic animal intelligence, granted by the hive mind of his core. Normally, he is rather docile and seeks only to feed on various chemicals. However, if attacked in a way he feels in threatening, Magmire will retaliate with wild abandon, incenerating everything in the immediate area until he no longer feels threatened.
Special Abilities:
Offensive Abilities
1. Inferno Overload Beam- Magmire's primary ranged weapon is a beam of intense heat that he can fire from his mouth. The temperature of the weapon easily exceeds 1000o Celsius and is more than capable of burning even thick-skinned monsters like Godzilla. It takes a few seconds to charge the beam, during which time Magmire's dorsal spines superheat and his internal temperature rises to around 1200o Celsius. The beam lacks the pushing and explosive force of some weapons. However, the sheer heat of the weapon makes up for it.
2. Fireballs- Magmire can release a rapid-fire volley of explosive fireballs from his mouth. These are only of average strength, comparable to a powerful missile, and can be released at any time. Their relative weakness is made up for by the sheer number that he can unleash, although it is primarily used as a distraction weapon.
3. Geothermal Attacks-
Earthquakes- Magmire can generate powerful earthquakes in a localized area, which can destabilize the ground under foes, causing their shots to go wild, or open up fissures to trip opponent's up.
Eruption- Magmire can also create localized eruptions, which bath opponents in hot lava.
4. Heat Pulse- Similar to Heisei Godzilla's Nuclear Pulse in terms of range, but more like the effects of Godzilla 2000's pulse. Magmire creates a great deal of heat and pressure inside himself and releases it outwards in a blast that can vaporize most structures and things like vines and tentacles (assuming they haven't been burnt already) that surround him, but it will only severely burn and throw back kaiju. While charging the pulse, his dorsal spine and body superheat to 1100o Celsius.
5. Heat Touch- Magmire's mere touch exudes 1000o Celsius heat and can burn opponent's severely.
6. Blades- All of Magmire's dorsal spines and the blades on his forearms are composed of a super-dense, diamond-like crystal and are very sharp, like GxM Godzilla's dorsal spines.
Defensive Abilities
1. Lava Blood- Magmire's blood is actually lava, with a temperature around 900o Celsius.
2. DNA Absorb/Copy- Magmire, like Orga, is capable of copying some of the physical traits of his foes by absorbing portions of their DNA. Magmire must have sustained contact of no less than five seconds in order to absorb some DNA fragments. These fragments create temporary changes to his physical structure, such as adding wings, horns, spines, etc, based on the appearance of his opponent. The new additions are composed out of rock and crystals like the rest of his body. The changes are not permanent, and usually recede after the battle. The only exception to this is the DNA Magmire absorbs is similar to the Godzilla DNA in his core.
For example, if Magmire were to fight Megaguirus, and absorb a sample of her DNA, he might sprout wings (although he cannot fly with them), a crystal stinger, and spiky skin. After the battle, he will return to his original state. But, if he fights a Godzilla-like creature, such as Spacegodzilla, he might grow massive shoulder crystals, and crystal spurs on his tail. However, the changes may very well be permanent, as the DNA of Spacegodzilla is quite similar to Godzilla's.
Magmire cannot acquire special weapons and non-physical attributes in this fashion. He cannot drain energy through his newly acquired stinger in a fight with Megaguirus, nor can he shoot a Corona Beam in a fight with Spacegodzilla.
3. Burrowing- Magmire can drop himself into a fissure that he creates and travel underground to attack opponents.
4. Resistances/Immunities-
Magmire, being a creature of pure and immense heat, takes no damage from heat based attacks. Godzilla's beam, for example, might blow a chunk off his shoulder, but Magmire suffers no adverse heat damage from the attack.
Magmire's core also feeds off of radiation, as well as various chemicals, so attacks that use radiation to poison a foe cannot harm him.
Also, because of the intense heat he generates, Magmire is immune to poisons and viruses, as well as most diseases. The heat tends to denature the proteins and DNA in such things, rendering them useless. This also means that Magmire isn't affected quite as long by acid attacks as others, because the heat vaporizes the acid relatively quickly.
Because of the way that Magmire's bacteria core works, it is impossible to use mental attacks against him. The core is a colony organism, with a hive mind. Each component of the core has complete and total control over every aspect of Magmire's body, although only a few work on any particular part at once. Because of this, attempts at reading minds and using mental suggestion may be able to affect a few single units of the core, but the rest of the core can override these impulses. However, a particularly strong or talented telepath might still be able to induce hallucinations, false memories, etc.
Finally, because Magmire lacks a true nervous system (all damage is detected by the core via limited telepathic abilities), he does not feel pain like a normal monster. Because of this, foes that rely on causing pain to weaken their opponents cannot slow down Magmire.
5. Physical Structure-
Magmire's physical makeup is a defensive ability in and of itself. His outer layer of "skin" is composed of igneous and basalt rocks, with things like granite thrown in occasionally. Although it is fragmented in its coverage of his body, the outer layer is very tough and can take a moderate amount of punishment, both physical and energetic, before breaking.
Much of Magmire's interior is formed completely of molten rock (see the Lava Blood ability for details).
Finally, Magmire's skeletal system is composed of a crystal substance comparable to diamonds. Magmire's skeleton resembles that of Godzilla's with fortified ribs, and an extra layer of crystals, albeit slightly porous, around the bacteria core.
6. Regeneration- Magmire, being composed of rock and crystals, can easily regenerate damage by simply absorbing the earth under his feet into his body. He can repair damage to any wound like this within 45 seconds/1 minute.
Combat style:
Magmire relies on his sheer power to overcome foes and doesn't use any kind of strategy. If it threatens him, he will burn it to a crisp, no questions asked. Of course, so long as nothing attacks him, the surrounding area is safe.
Strengths and Weaknesses:
Magmire's thermal powers are often so intense that they allow him to overcome heat resistance/shielding in most foes. He is good at both ranged and melee combat, although the latter relies more on his ability to burn a foe rather than any actual skill.
However, he has a few weaknesses that can be very detrimental.
Freezer attacks are lethal to the beast, as they cause rapid unsafe temperature changes in his core. He cannot fight effectively underwater, as he becomes sluggish with hampered regeneration. Additionally, if an opponent manages to damage his core, Magmire cannot regenerate damage to it and will "die" if the core has sustained massive damage.
Sample Fight:
Magmire vs Gigan FW v1
The alien cyborg known as Gigan was busy destroying the city of Tokyo, laying waste to anything in sight, when a powerful rumbling in the earth caught his attention. A fissure opened in the streets of downtown as lava poured forth, heralding the arrival of Magmire. The living volcano emerged from the fissure and promptly headed towards the industrial districts, where the scent of chemicals attracted him. Gigan watched this all and moved to attack, provoked by orders from his alien masters.
Magmire was absorbing chemicals, when a series of explosions rocked him from behind, blowing off small chunks of rock in the process. The monster roared in fury as he turned to face his assailant, the ambient temperature rising considerably. Gigan dropped to the ground, buzzsaw roaring, as he fired another cluster ray, blowing off more chunks of rock from the lava kaiju. Magmire roared again, the sound reverberatting across the city, as Gigan shrieked his claim of dominance to the best. But Magmire was not to be put down so easily.
The ground trembled and shook as Magmire bent the forces of nature to his will, rending the earth asunder and creating giant fissures in the landscape. Lava erupted all around the two combatants as geysers of molten rock blotted out the skyline. Gigan shrieked as he ascended into the sky, wishing to avoid being sucked into the depths. Magmire's dorsal spines began to flicker and glow as the heat surrounding him intensified, before opening his maw and firing a beam of thermal energy at Gigan. The beam splashed across the cyborg's chest, melting armor into slag on contact. Gigan shrieked in agony as he took off, using his flight ability to put some distance between the two combatants before making another pass with his cluster beam.
Magmire roared as he continued to fire his beam at Gigan, but the alien was simply too fast. None of the damage Magmire had sustained was slwoing him down though, and in fact, it had already been repaired, almost as soon as he had taken it. Gigan circled around Magmire and came in from behind, attempting to rake the beast with a flyby of his buzzsaw. But the blades failed to do anything other than draw a small spray of lava, before the heat went to work on the metal, turning the blades into slag, which jammed up inside Gigan. Sparks erupted from the cyborg's chest as he plummeted to the ground from mechanical failure.
Magmire advanced, blasting away with his beam weapon as he went. More metal melted away into slag before his onslaught, as Gigan tried to get to his feet, his vision staticy from the damage he had sustained. As Magmire approached, Gigan lashed out with one arm, his grappling cables launching and entwining around his foe's throat. Gigan tried to reel in his catch, when he noticed the cables were smoking and melting from the intense heat. He tried to reel them back in, but it was too late. A powerful pulse of energy rocked Magmire, blasting the cables to pieces and peppering Gigan with shrapnel.
Gigan tried to stab forward with his scythes, and merely succeeded in burying them in Magmire's thigh, before striking crystal supports. The heat began to warp and melt the weapons as Magmire roared again, blasting away with his full fury. Soon, nothing was left of Gigan but a heap of molten slag, and the rest of the city burned before the fury of Magmire. When he had eventually calmed down, most of the area was in ruins, and the Xillians were forced to rethink their plans for invasion with such a powerful foe around.
