Name: Zorgeksa, Lord of the Mutants!
Story appearances: Kreaturez: Comic Series
Height: 50 meters
Weight: 22,000 tons
*Length: 130 meters
Origin Story: Zorgeksa is a Dimentiaran pop culture icon, the central character of a lucrative and popular multi-million-dollar film, TV, comic, toy and video game franchise, created when the concept of motion pictures was first introduced to Obaarc culture by humans in the aftermath of the Human/Duhdorian war.
In the original film, Zorgeksa: Lord of the Mutants, Zorgeksa was a giant, mutant Geksaur created by a doomsday cult to be a physical vessel for their god. However, Zorgeksa turned on his masters and became a savage rogue, laying waste to any opponent that stood in his way. With the memory of biological weapons such as Altertra fresh on the public’s mind post H/D-W, the original Zorgeksa film was a thinly veiled commentary on the dangers of both religious fundamentalism and creating new life forms for the purposes of war.
Although the original Zorgeksa film was intended to be a serious and scary movie, through an endless stream of sequels the character has gradually transformed into a campy superhero instead, protecting the world against other giant monsters, and even gained an heir/sidekick in the form of Gekzikky.
Personality: Originally an antagonistic character, Zorgeksa now stands firmly on the side of good. He is protective of his home, his son and his allies, but holds no special love towards Humans or Duhdorians, and isn’t shy about knocking down a city or two in order to drive away whatever menace might be threatening the world. He is a misunderstood and unappreciated hero.
Special Abilities: As a mutant Geksaur, the character possesses most of the same powers as his origin Kreature; with a prehensile tail, sticky paws that can adhere to surfaces and project electricity, and the ability to rapidly heal from injury.
Zorgeksa’s signature weapon, however, is his “Zap Breath”, where he channels his electricity into an oral beam, which packs great kinetic energy and tremendous heat. It also has the side effect of generating EMPs that shut down unprotected mechanical devices. He also possesses great physical strength, and is able to lift up to 50,000 tons.
Also of note is his "Reverse Lightning Attack" (also known as the "Zorgeksa bounce" within the Zorgeksa fandom), which he first used in the film "Zorgeksa on Mutant Island". Finding his Zap Breath useless against Gaitox's reflective armour, Zorgeksa curled his tail into a spring shape, supercharged his fist with electricity and launched himself at his opponent with enough force to bash his way through. Zorgeksa has used this attack many times since then, usually as a flashy finishing move, or as a trump card to dispense with particularly tough opponents. Many variations on this attack have appeared throughout the series, such as a lightning charged spring powered jump kick, and a lightning charged spring powered headbutt.
Combat style: Zorgeksa is a skilled and experienced fighter. As a mutant Geksaur, he can and will climb structures such as buildings and mountains to try and attack his foes from high ground. He is very agile and dexterous, with swift reflexes, and often utilises various wrestling and martial arts techniques in battle to comedic effect. A master of improvisation, Zorgeksa thinks on his feet and will sometimes use foreign objects as makeshift weapons.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Zorgeksa’s sticky paws, great physical strength and dexterity make him excellent at grappling. The aforementioned sticky paws can adhere to virtually any surface, giving him excellent traction on even smooth, slippery terrain. His Zap Breath, while an effective weapon in general, is particularly effective against mecha and cyborgs due to its electromagnetic properties. However, though Zorgeksa’s healing factor is swift and effective, newly regenerated areas will be soft, stiff and somewhat numb for a few minutes as blood flows back into it. Although he can recover easily from flesh wounds and grow back limbs and other simple extremities, internal organs are more complex and take longer to regenerate. Also: having been genetically engineered from a noctournal herptile, Zorgeksa doesn't see as well during the day as he does during the night. Extremely bright and rapid flashes of light can disorient him temporarily, this problem compounded by his lack of eyelids, his eyes being protected by a translucent scale instead.
Sample Fight: Spacegodzilla uttered a shrill and arrogant roar. Once his crystal fortress was complete, nothing could possibly stand against him! Soon this pitiful world and all its inhabitants would bow before his awesome might!
…Suddenly, a shadow loomed over him, and the cosmic monster turned around just in time to see MOGUERA, charred and dented, for a split second before it smashed right into his face.
Spacegodzilla shoved the ruined machine off his body, rose back to his feet and shook his head to regain his senses. What puny being would dare to humiliate the soon-to-be-ruler of the universe this way? Zorgeksa strode towards him, striking a kung-fu pose in challenge. Spacegodzilla’s nefarious deeds would not go unpunished while the righteous reptile, Zorgeksa, the lord of the mutants was on the job!
Spacegodzilla answered Zorgeksa’s challenge with a blast from his Corona ray, scalding his opponent’s chest with a searing blast. Spacegodzilla expected Zorgeksa to react in the sensible, Heisei-way by waddling around, roaring in pain, and perhaps returning fire. Instead, Zorgeksa sprinted towards him with ridiculous speed and leapt into the air, closing the distance between them and knocking Spacegodzilla onto his fat, pompous butt with a fierce jump-kick. Once he had his opponent down, Zorgeksa began to pound the space monster relentlessly with his fists.
Spacegodzilla roared in fury and pain and waggled his little arms in frustration, sending energy surges into Zorgeksa that stung him, but to no avail. Unable to shove him off, Spacegodzilla reacted in typical Heisei fashion; he began to spray his beam around at will. It seared Zorgeksa’s flesh again, but the wound sealed up. Still, it managed to get him off. Spacegodzilla staggered clumsily to his feet. Now that there was some distance between them again, they could go at it properly like gentlemen, beam against beam; presuming this uncouth brute even possessed a ranged weapon.
Spacegodzilla uprooted a series of crystals, levitated them into the air, and launched them at his opponent. Like some absurd anime character snatching a bullet out of the air, Zorgeksa caught every one of them, and then tossed the projectiles right back to their source. Spacegodzilla roared furiously as they shattered against his hide. Zorgeksa immediately followed through with a blast of the ol’ Zap Breath, scorching a G-shaped wound right into his opponent’s chest, Zorro-style.
Zorgeksa opened fire again, but this time, Spacegodzilla raised his force-field, deflecting the blast. Then, his shoulder crystals began to glow, and he sucked Zorgeksa up into his gravity tornado. Zorgeksa thrashed and Spacegodzilla reveled in his helplessness…
…Until suddenly, Zorgeksa tucked into a fetal position and fired his Zap Breath against the anti-gravity surge's spin, changing his trajectory. He crashed right into Spacegodzilla. Zorgeksa managed to foil yet another one of his attacks and make his way into point blank range, and the cosmic terror cursed his luck once again.
Zorgeksa opened up with a rapid flurry of slaps and punches, pounding Spacegodzilla with his fists and ripping off tracts of flesh with his sticky paws. One of the punches landed on his left shoulder crystal, shattering it. Spacegodzilla roared in agony, and felt his energy starting to surge out of control. In desperation, he lashed out with his tail, but Zorgeksa caught it, and spun him around before throwing him into a crystallized skyscraper. Spacegodzilla writhed as Zorgeksa repeatedly fired his Zap Breath as he closed the distance, blasting gory craters into the alien menace’s flesh. Spacegodzilla fired his Corona beam, meeting it with Zorgeksa's Zap Breath. The resulting beam lock caused a bright, intense explosion, the strobelike effect of which assaulted Zorgeksa's sensitive, lidless eyes and caused him to see spots.
All pretenses of civility having finally been washed away by animalistic fury, Spacegodzilla suddenly rose to his feet, adrenaline surging through his body, and lunged at Zorgeksa while he was off guard with his remaining shoulder crystal, impaling him with it in his upper chest, ripping off his arm. Blood sprayed from the wound and Zorgeksa staggered back in agony. Spacegodzilla cackled, but his laugh was cut short as he saw Zorgeksa’s bleeding stump scab over and sprout tiny fingers…
A new arm sprouted from the stump of the old one, paler in colour. Zorgeksa flexed it weakly; it would be a few minutes before it’d be any good for fighting with. Undaunted, his eye he lunged at Spacegodzilla, ripping out his eyes with his remaining sticky paw. Spacegodzilla staggered about in blind fury and agony. Zorgeksa picked up his severed arm, and using it as a club, began to beat Spacegodzilla with it mercilessly, shattering his remaining crystal. Spacegodzilla’s body began to surge and crackle with out of control energy.
His regenerated arm still feeling a tad numb, Zorgeksa opted to use his other one instead, charging it with electricity. Coiling his tail into a spring, Zorgeksa launched himself at Spacegodzilla, striking him with a mighty electric punch right in the chest, the force of the blow crashing through his ribcage, the shock frying his innards, the impact lifting the beast right off the ground. He felt himself sailing through the air at high speed, and the last thing Spacegodzilla saw as his eyes regenerated was Zorgeksa’s Zap Breath streaking towards him, igniting his energy laden body…
An explosion on par with a small nuclear detonation lit up the sky, incinerated everything in its blast radius, and knocked Zorgeksa over with the resulting pressure wave. Zorgeksa rose to his feet, dusted himself off, and surveyed the damage as his eyes readjusted in the wake of this second, even greater explosion; enormous crater, city in ruins, thousands dead and dying… enemy vanquished! Another job well done! Zorgeksa roared in triumph and returned to the land from whence he came.
