Name: Komara Nesting Ground Story appearances: Antrodus Series Size: A couple square miles Description: Out in the American midwest, there’s a long, narrow canyon with steep cliffs, a small river, and dozens of large caves at various heights along the walls. Pack after pack of the pesky Komara came into the canyon and nested there, using the caves as shelter and the rocks' warmth to incubate their eggs. Year after year, the area saw more of the Syntarsus mutants coming, until the area formed it’s own separate sub-species, isolated from the rest. There are five large communal nests, each surrounded by up to a dozen smaller nests. Hazards and Notable Landmarks: The caves, while large by human standards, are pretty small to kaiju, with Komara packs tucking into them very tightly to rest. Mostly nocturnal, disturbing the caves during the day will startle and irritate the scavenging critters, and they’ll come out to attack what they feel is a threat to their young. The river isn’t very deep, so aquatic kaiju won’t be able to swim in it. Stepping on or otherwise screwing up the nests themselves will result in Komara pouring out of the cliffs in defense. But, being even weaker than the common breed of Komara, they’re really just annoying. Also, the entire area is nearly coated in their shit, especially around the nests and the river bank, making the whole place comically slippery. As for what a Komara looks like (they range from 13 to 16 meters tall):
