Welcome to the Fan Fiction Kaiju Tournament! Before you can join the tourney, you must first read and fill out this application form. Contained within are a list of rules you must adhere to when submitting your monster and participating in the tournament, and also the official Monster Bio Template.
Section A: FFKT Rules
#1: Try to stay on the FFKT staff’s good side. Behaving in an obnoxious or inflammatory manner will not endear you towards us. If you have a bone to pick with us, do it in a civil and respectful manner; even if you ultimately don’t respect us. Remember, a message board is a dictatorship, not a democracy, and although we value the input and opinions of non-staff, ultimately we have the final say in everything.
#2: You may submit a maximum of four monsters. You’re free to submit fewer than four, but that’s our upper limit.
#3: Original characters only. “Originality” here is defined by whether-or-not the character(s) you’re submitting are legally yours. In short, no entrants based on existing intellectual properties are allowed; no Mecha-Destoroyahs, Neo-Spacegodzillas, WTFHAX-Ghidorahs or the like. We value creativity here at the FFKT and stealing the name and likeness of somebody else’s characters is not creative.
#4: You, the applicant, have the sole responsibility of providing complete and accurate information for your character(s). We have other applicants to attend to, and lives outside of the FFKT. Simply posting to an RPG or a fanfic off-board will not be acceptable. If you feel the FFKT incarnation of your monster is inaccurate, the blame ultimately rests on you for not properly filling out the application. Keep that in mind.
#5: If a character is initially accepted into the tourney but is later deemed overpowered by FFKT staff, you, the applicant, acknowledge and accept that we hold the right to tone it down for the sake of balance.
Section B: Monster Application Form
(Stats with an asterisk * denote an optional statistic.)
Name:
Story appearances: (What story or RPG is the character from?)
Height: (Anywhere from 10-100 meters; the FFKT operates on the Showa series’ scale, thus around 50 meters is the “average” height.)
*Length: (Maximum is 300 meters.)
*Wingspan: (An optional stat for winged monsters. Maximum is 300 meters.)
Weight: (Anywhere from 10,000 to 120,000 tons. Operating as we are on the Showa scale, the 20,000-40,000 range is considered to be the average.)
Physical description: Describe what your monster looks like here if you fail at drawing. If you can draw your monster, an illustration in lieu of this section would be preferred.
Origin Story: Where does your monster come from? Write a summary of your monster’s back story here.
Personality: How does your monster act? Is it sentient, or possess a simple animal cunning? Is it good, evil or neutral? What drives and motivates it? Elaborate on that stuff here.
Special Abilities: Write a summary of your monster’s special abilities here; beams, maximum physical strength, top speed, regen, armour, all that stuff. Try and keep the number of abilities below the double digits.
Combat style: How does your monster fight? Is it an offensive fighter or defensive? Is it strategic or rely on animal instincts? Does it rely on ranged attacks or does it prefer to fight hand-to-hand?
Strengths and Weaknesses: Describe what your monster is good at doing, and what they’re not good at. Remember, in the FFKT, no monster is invincible; a weakness is mandatory. A *real* weakness, something applicable to combat against other monsters, not something thrown on as an afterthought like “its only weakness is Chemical XYZ!” or “It can only be thwarted by the mystical orb of Xilia!”
Sample Fight: Stats and analysis are good and all, but one needs to see a monster in action to truly appreciate it. Here you will have your monster fight against a military assault and/or another monster(s) to show the full extent of the character’s abilities; this includes strengths AND weaknesses. Though you may be tempted to make your monster appear utterly unstoppable, godmodding will not be tolerated. Taking damage from opponents will be mandatory in the sample fight, and a character that is able to effortlessly kill everything that comes its way will be rejected. Make the sample fight seem like an actual FIGHT, not like a child lining up his action figures so he can knock them down with his favourite toy.
Section C: Final Release form
When submitting your monster’s bio for approval, you must sign this release form before it will be accepted:
